Bo – now 9 months old.

He is certainly growing into a bouncy dog!  He seems to have changed his colouring again, and even the shape of his face!  This one is painted in oil with cold wax, on a canvas board.  I had just woken him from slumber which gave him a somewhat startled look, but he’s so cute I couldn’t resist the urge to paint him again!

Always interested to hear any thoughts you may have…… until next time – ciao.

Love the lion world!

My latest work is a lion, this time using some cold wax medium too – a first for me.  It’s oil and cold wax on canvas board, 18 x 24 cm.

It was a total experiment with a new medium.  I have to say I found it rewarding and interesting to use, although I am sure it needs a little more experimentation on my part to do the cold wax justice!  It seems quite versatile and it does make a refreshing change from plain oil colour!

Lion July 2018v1Next painting to tackle is a small deer – the question is – to cold wax or not?!!!!

It’s been a long winter…

I have been doing a few studies (see above) in anticipation of our forthcoming craft fair to be held in our local village in May.   They have all been a real pleasure to work on and some have taken longer than others (naturally!).  They are all oil paints on canvas board, but they are not all the same size!  The winter still seems to be with us as it’s still raining and the sun is reluctant to stay shining.  I am hoping May will turn out to be a warmer and dryer month and more people will be encouraged to venture out and about.  Any comments on the pictures would be gratefully received – email me at sara_wooldridge@artcreationsbysara.com.
