Lion King

I was gifted some new oil paint – orange yellow and sap green – and a lot of it! I am very grateful for the kindness of that generous person and thought I would use these colours as a basis for this picture. Initially I did think that it was unlikely it would work out very well with such diverse colours but I have been pleasantly surprised how the different mixes of the colours made totally different tones. Enough said, this is the end result, and I do hope you like it!

Black Canvas

Black canvasses are new to me and I am still very much experimenting with them. Initially I found them really inspiring but over time I am thinking maybe they are not as great an idea as I thought! I shall still use them, I think, if I can get hold of them again!

These two pictures are both on 40 x 40 cm canvas and painted in oils. Let me know what you think!

Red Wolf

The red wolf is a canine native to the southeastern United States. Morphologically it is intermediate between the coyote and gray wolf, and is very closely related to the eastern wolf of eastern Canada. The red wolf is the world’s most endangered wolf. There are only an estimated 35 or fewer wild red wolves, and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature classifies them as critically endangered.

At the time of painting this beautiful creature it seems there are only 10 left in the wild. I do so hope that they grow in numbers and can survive.

This is painted in oil paints on 30 x 40 cm canvas. It was a joy to do. With love and respect for this gorgeous animal – lest we forget.
