I am so new to watercolours! These are my first two real attempts with the medium. I am reasonably pleased with the outcomes. I have so much to learn about using watercolours though and I shall enjoy experimenting with them.
The Tiger I have painted in oils before, as you may remember, so it was interesting to me to notice the differences between the two mediums. I do still prefer the oils to paint with but that is probably because I am such a beginner with watercolours and oils are far more familiar to me.
I hope you like them.
Black canvasses are new to me and I am still very much experimenting with them. Initially I found them really inspiring but over time I am thinking maybe they are not as great an idea as I thought! I shall still use them, I think, if I can get hold of them again!
These two pictures are both on 40 x 40 cm canvas and painted in oils. Let me know what you think!
This latest picture is painted with brushes in oils on 50 x 60 cm canvas. Inspired by a visit from my daughter, and delayed by her staying with me, this is how it turned out! I have to say it was lovely to have such a delightful distraction from my art! I hope you like it.
This tiger looked so soft and cuddly and just like he was daydreaming. He has had a great response from social media which is pleasing as it means I must be doing something right! I hope you like him. He’s painted in oils on 40 x 40 cm canvas.
